The SAME Baltimore Post Welcomes you to Baltimore!
Great news! We have received confirmation from USACE that all 6 NAD District Commanders and the USACE-NAD Commander, BG Savre, will be attending and briefing at the JETS in Baltimore. Sign up today!
Please join us for SAME’s North Atlantic/New England Joint Engineer Training Symposium (JETS) on 05 – 07 November 2013 in Baltimore, Maryland. Our program for the symposium will reflect our theme, “Opportunities in a Changing World”. We are in the final stages of planning to deliver relevant and current information through three general tracks:
- The Built Environment
- The Natural Environment
- The Secure Environment
These technical tracks will also fulfill continuing education credits requirements for licensed professional engineers.*
Consistent with our mission, the Baltimore Post will use the proceeds of the Symposium to support veterans and their families as well as fund college scholarships and educational outreach programs. Our goals are to honor those who have served and sacrificed in defense of our nation’s security, to guide students towards careers in engineering and related professions, and to promote a greater appreciation for military engineering and the Society.
The Philanthropic Committee will be holding a silent art auction to benefit Baltimore/DC area veterans and their families. Come pick up some great art for your home or office and help veterans at the same time!! Shipping options will be available for people who have traveled to the conference and cannot take the art back with them. We are still accepting donations of artwork; if interested in donating, please contact Jon Angle, Angle@usna.edu. So register today to join us at the 2013 North Atlantic/New England JETS!
We have also learned of a special government event taking place before our conference begins.
Conference rates for all attendees staying at the host hotel have been negotiated at the per diem rates of $144/night and can be used 3 days before and 3 days after our conference. This rate includes free internet access! Our symposium will be located just a short walk from Baltimore’s historic Inner Harbor. The USS Constellation, Fort McHenry, and the Civil War Museum are all close by, as are dozens of excellent restaurants and cultural attractions that are part of a great waterfront atmosphere!
We would like to extend our appreciation to our committee of volunteers making this possible. Their names are listed on our contacts page. If you have questions about the symposium, please let one of them know.
*Maryland PE credits are approved. Please check with other state licensing requirements for reciprocal approvals.
